Cities–that’s where the people are, that’s where the culture is made and influenced, and that’s where we want to work. I am from a rural area, and I love the country, but to reach an entire unreached country, we must focus on where the people are. If the capital city sees the light of the Gospel, the light will spread to the outlying areas.
Slovenia is a country of 2 million people. Around 15% of the country lives in the capital city of Ljubljana. 1 out 7 in Ljubljana are students. Reaching Ljubljana with the Gospel will enable us to reach much more effectively into the numerous towns and villages that dot the irenic countryside.
This is demonstrated throughout the Book of Acts. Cities of influence were targeted with the Gospel. As the Gospel took hold, it also spread to the outlying areas. We have no desire to neglect the rural areas in countries where GGI is working, and efforts will be made to reach the countryside in Slovenia. But, the cities though will be our focus.
