Let not then your good be evil spoken of:
Romans 14:16
We have a great desire to be honest and upright in our ministry and finances. Accountability in these areas to our supporting churches and our sending church is a great part of this. Here are some of our checks and balances to that end.
Board of Directors
Global Gospel Initiatives, Inc. is governed by a board of directors. This board is comprised of both men who are members of Old Pathway Baptist Church of Waynesville, NC and also some pastor and Christian workers who are not. Our pastor, Tim Reeves, serves on this board to ensure that it is run as an extension of the ministry of OPBC. This board establishes the operating budget of the organization and ensures that those working under GGI are doing what they ought.
The by-laws are freely available as are other records from board meetings; just ask. Contact information for the directors is not published on the internet to protect their privacy, but they may be contacted through the Old Pathway Baptist Church office at 828-926-7963 or the Contact Us page.
Advisory Board
An advisory board of pastors, associate pastors, and missionaries is being formed to oversee the ministry as well. This board does not have decision making authority, but they have full and complete access to every aspect of GGI—both ministry and finances. They will be sought for advice by the board of directors when necessary, and their advice will be available as a matter of public record. If the advisory board were to discover moral, ethical, or financial problems, they are to report these to the board of directors to be handled in a Biblical manner. These reports of problems are available to supporting churches and churches considering supporting GGI missionaries.
Missionaries
Each missionary sent from Old Pathway Baptist Church under GGI will be paid a reasonable salary and benefit package established by the board of directors to be paid from the missionary’s monthly support. GGI will save 10% from the missionary’s monthly support to be placed in an account for emergencies or special needs. Our pastor must approve all expenditures from this fund.
The remainder of the support will constitute the work fund. GGI missionaries will keep accurate and full records of these expenditures to be turned in monthly. These funds must be accounted for in a manner that complies with the IRS requirements for accountable expense reimbursement plans. If not, the missionary must repay the funds from his salary.
Open Door Policy
While we are a new organization, we are a part of a church that has been impacting its community for almost a decade now. We don’t claim to have everything figured out, but we will be open and honest. If you have questions, ask. If you have suggestions, please let us know. Get in touch with us on our contact page.
